Last week, we submitted our latest version of Fresh Docs (version 1.25.2) and we are currently awaiting Apple’s approval. This release is a HUGE release with lots of enhancements and improvements. Previous to this release Fresh Docs was only available to Alfresco CMIS Document Repositories. With this new release, Fresh Docs is now able to connect to the latest versions of Alfresco’s CMIS Services and IBM’s FileNet CMIS Services. Additionally, Fresh Docs should be able to now communicate with and browse most CMIS Document Repositories which implement the CMIS 1.0 OASIS specification!
While we patiently wait for the release to be approved, here’s a list of what to expect in this new release:
- CMIS Improvements. Fresh Docs has been enhanced to support the CMIS 1.0 OASIS Specification and has been tested against all versions of Alfresco implementing the current standard. Additionally, Fresh Docs has been tested against IBM’s FileNet Content Manager CMIS Service. It has been tested on a limited scale on Nuxeo’s CMIS Service and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 CMIS Connector.
- Available on iPad. The app is now a universal binary and can be installed both on the iPhone and iPad!
- Document Support: Send-To. All devices running iOS 3.2 and above can now send a copy of their document from Fresh Docs to another application on their device!
- Branding & Chrome. The app has been polished. We’ve updated the color scheme, enhanced our icons and theme and should have a much better visual appeal!
Also to get everyone excited about future releases of Fresh Docs, we currently have the following features in development:
- View & Edit Metadata
- Create New Folders
- Upload photos
- Ability to Accept Documents from other Apps
- More CMIS Improvements
And finally, below is a list of features (in no particular priority) that we have in mind for Fresh Docs
- Improved and more robust support for the CMIS 1.0 OASIS Standard
- Versioning Support
- Ability to configure and browse multiple CMIS Document repositories
- Favorites: Ability to favorite a folder
- Local metadata storage
- Synchronization of folders, files & metadata
- Search: Enhanced Search, Offline Search, Ranking, Local Search

It seems that the latest version of freshdocs v1.25.2 is not compatible with the latest version of Alfresco Community v3.4.0 (a 3169)
Is there any tricks to make it compatible ?
@Sylvain, I will look into this and see if I can see what your problem is. If you could email iphone@ziaconsulting.com with any detailed information it would be greatly appreciated.
I do believe that it is compatible with Alfresco 3.4.0 as it is able to connect to Alfresco’s CMIS Preview at https://cmis.alfresco.com/.
If anyone else is having connectivity issues with Alfresco, please point the AtomPub Service Document Location to the following path:
/alfresco/service/cmis
Thanks Gi–the /alfresco/service/cmis change worked perfectly!
