Using Digital Handovers to Transform Information Exchanges 

The energy exploration and production (E&P) sector is considered a high-risk, high-reward industry that is fraught with many content challenges due to heavy information exchanges from joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Whether working onshore or offshore, the content exchanged in E&P environments is file intensive both in volume and size as well as labor intensive in terms of people and processes. Consider for a moment how big seismic, well log data, and CAD files can get. Then consider how intensive the application to drill process is due to all the approvals and collaboration that takes place in support of the exploration plan (EP) or development operation coordination document (DOCD).
