Zia Consulting will be a sponsor of Alfresco Day San Francisco on August 4, 2015 at The Argonaut. This event brings together top IT professionals and innovators to collaborate and discuss best practices for Document and Records Management as well as BPM.
In addition to our presence in the exposition area, Bindu Wavell, Chief Architect at Zia Consulting, will present at the Community Track on Multi-Module Alfresco Development. His presentation will cover topics like setting up AIO, adding third party AMPs and JARs, as well as some tips and tricks he’s learned along the way.
During the Business Track, Mike Mahon, CEO of Zia, will be speaking alongside Chris Lynch, VP of Sales North America at Alfresco Software on “Solving SharePoint and Office 365.” As companies realize the limitations of SharePoint as a true ECM system, they are looking to address concerns around governance, security, enterprise integration, and business processes. With our new solution, Adhere for Alfresco, these problems are a thing of the past.
Prompted by Microsoft, many have looked to SharePoint Online and Office 365 as the answer to some of the content chaos and cost concerns that exist today. In a recent ECM market study, 34% of respondents plan to have at least some of their content in SharePoint cloud. At the same time, 26% do not—instead planning either private cloud deployments or remaining on-premise—and most significantly, 36% are still undecided.
However, identifying the actual costs and benefits of deploying to the cloud or perhaps a hybrid model is challenge. Around 41% of organizations say they are moving to SharePoint cloud to save money. What they may not recognize is that it may actually cost them more when the total cost of both application management and information governance is taken into account.
Specifically, organizations are questioning:
* How to address information governance—both compliance and security
* How to manage business processes and integrate key business applications (ERP, CRM…)
* When and what to move to the SharePoint cloud
* How to align with Office 365/Exchange
During our presentation, Mike and Chris will address these questions and explain why companies need an enterprise-wide information management strategy—built on coexistence with Office 365 and SharePoint.
